We have a future opening for a GATES Seaport Functional Analyst. The selected candidate will provide GATES Seaport functional expertise supporting customer training (exercise and classroom), system upgrades thru testing and documentation, and problem resolution via help desk support.
Project Information
The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) is an automated information system designed to support the operational requirements of the Department of Defense (DOD) for obligating, tracking, documenting, and payment of DOD cargo. SDDC requires Tier III functional support for GATES-Surface/Water to provide support to our battalions, detachments, reserve and active units and shippers, worldwide to continue operations when necessary.
GATES-Surface/Water provide support to the functional management office for the SDDC portion of GATES. The requirement is to provide support for SDDC G35, system functional training, testing, and support to include responding to functional questions/assistance related to GATES-Surface/Water, performing actions to facilitate the resolution of customer issues (CONUS/OCONUS), at a Tier III level, which includes, providing instructions/clarification to the customer to perform problem resolution at their location. This requirement includes site visits to shipper locations (worldwide), FT Lee, VA., Transportation School, active duty and reserve units for training assistance, in person or virtual training for GATES users worldwide, G3 systems functional manager with system customer testing and acceptance of releases and briefing of GATES-Surface/Water and related transportation information. GATES is fielded worldwide in support of military operations, reserve training and readiness for an estimated 1,500-account/user base. Currently SDDC has 27 terminals located worldwide that are supported.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Works directly with subject matter expert level GATES Functional Analysts and is integral to all functional support requirements. Maintains, updates, troubleshoots, and sets up government furnished training computer systems and peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) as necessary in support of training and exercise events, class training, and other requests by the customer. Supports the contract team by updating documentation and briefings as new and/or revisions of GATES become available. Prepares GATES briefing PowerPoint slides, informational documentation concerning SDDC Movement Orders & Shipping Processes/Systems Division issues, system upgrades, changes, and general transportation information. Supports Help Desk lead in servicing tickets up to and including Tier III level with responses provided within 24 hours of receiving notice of trouble ticket. Additionally, provides GATES customer support by responding to GATES trouble tickets generated from the Service Now application. Addresses problems, issues, questions, account concerns, and training by documenting them with service tickets within Service Now for resolution. Supports test lead in statement of work testing requirements. Supplements Training and development specialist as required in their GATES training role.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a similar discipline is required.
- Minimum of six (6) years of related experience is required.
- 2-3 years of D-GATES and R-GATES experience
- All C5T team members must have strong interpersonal skills to interact with our customers and team members. Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills, along with analytical and problem-solving capabilities, are a must.
