We have a future opening for a GATES Seaport Training Manager. The selected candidate will manage all aspects of the GATES Seaport training program and act as the lead instructor of the training team. The training manager also assumes contract manager (CM) responsibilities in the CMs absence.

Project Information

The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) is an automated information system designed to support the operational requirements of the Department of Defense (DOD) for obligating, tracking, documenting, and payment of DOD cargo. SDDC requires Tier III functional support for GATES-Surface/Water to provide support to our battalions, detachments, reserve and active units and shippers, worldwide to continue operations when necessary.

GATES-Surface/Water provide support to the functional management office for the SDDC portion of GATES. The requirement is to provide support for SDDC G35, system functional training, testing, and support to include responding to functional questions/assistance related to GATES-Surface/Water, performing actions to facilitate the resolution of customer issues (CONUS/OCONUS), at a Tier III level, which includes, providing instructions/clarification to the customer to perform problem resolution at their location. This requirement includes site visits to shipper locations (worldwide), FT Lee, VA., Transportation School, active duty and reserve units for training assistance, in person or virtual training for GATES users worldwide, G3 systems functional manager with system customer testing and acceptance of releases and briefing of GATES-Surface/Water and related transportation information. GATES is fielded worldwide in support of military operations, reserve training and readiness for an estimated 1,500-account/user base. Currently SDDC has 27 terminals located worldwide that are supported.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for coordination, deconfliction and scheduling of all CBT, virtual, in person and exercise related training programs. Lead instructor providing end to end training of students in any type of environment (in person, virtual). Training may consist of GATES functional training, basic transportation knowledge and limited IBS knowledge. Guides supporting instructors in delivery or facilitation of training sessions in a manner that engages all stakeholders/participants. Provides feedback to training and courseware development specialist to facilitate improvement of individual and organizational performance for GATES training. Adheres to best practices such as use of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) or other methods/tools for instructional design and delivery. Provides functional (surface) support to the Transportation School located at Fort Lee, Virginia as required. Supplements Functional Analysts as required in their training and exercise support role. Assumes responsibilities of CM in their absence

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a similar discipline is required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required.
• 2-3 years of D-GATES and R-GATES experience
• All C5T team members must have strong interpersonal skills to interact with our customers and team members. Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills, along with analytical and problem-solving capabilities, are a must.
