The Network Administrator is responsible to maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Maintains ticket documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Applies patches/upgrades as required.
- Troubleshoots GATES system issues to determine cause and implements appropriate repair for GATES systems issues.
- Accurately updates internal tracking mechanisms to ensure all required systems receive upgrades.
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and configuration of Palo Alto PA-220 or similar VPN hardware.
- Troubleshoots VPN tunnels and routes.
- Support and administer third-party applications.
- Creates and modifies configuration security policies and procedures.
- Backup and restore configurations and install OS updates.
- Adds IPs to firewall polices.
- Manages Interface traffic using TCP IP Dump.
- Works with other firewall supports organizations and other government organizations in support of GATES communications.
Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
- Knowledge of GUI and CLI CMDs.
- Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking skills.
- Proven expertise in supporting and troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN network administration support under Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016 and RHEL7.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at speaking in technical or non-technical terms.
- Solutions-oriented multitasking professional.
- Able to follow Information Assurance Guidelines and Confidentiality Agreements to protect company and customer assets.
- Understanding of Cloud and AWS architecture.
- Understanding of Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) and AWS Network Load Balancer
- (NLB).
- Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training.
- This position requires a bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience.
- Must currently have and be able to maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Must have a current, valid Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
